The Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Engineer Felix Odimegwu, has marked his forty-ninth birthday and fifteen years of marital journey with his heartthrob, Barrister Ugochi Odimegwu.

 

Friends, family, associates and colleagues who joined in the celebration commended Engineer Odimegwu for being a reliable administrator and agent in achieving the livable and prosperous homeland agenda of the Soludo administration.

Speaking during the event, the Vice Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Professor Charles Esimone, an industrialist, Chief Chidi Okafor; of Chicason Group, and a former Commissioner for Information in Anambra, Chief Maja Umeh, also commended Engineer Odimegwu for his remarkable contributions to the growth and development of Anambra State over the past years in various capacities.

 

According to them, Engineer Odimegwu has consistently brought about positive changes to the state and university community, wishing him and his family many fruitful years to come in good health.

Other dignitaries who felicitated the Odimegwu family were the Chairman, Anambra State Physical Planning Board, Barrister Chike Maduekwe, the Managing Director of Anambra Rice, Mr. Akai Egwuonwu, and the Managing Director of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade, Comrade Celestine Anere.

 

They all highlighted that the exemplary lifestyle of the Environment Commissioner is a clear indication of his expertise, administrative skills, political acumen and unwavering commitment to democracy, and charged young couples to emulate such lifestyle to maintain a peaceful home, while praying God’s continuous blessings upon the Odimegwu family.

Appreciating their guests, the couple, Engineer and Barrister Odimegwu said that they earlier celebrated the birthday with some less-privileged people in the society; who received different foodstuffs, including bags of rice and tubers of yam.

 

They described the celebration as a way to preach successful marriage and healthy living, and use the opportunity to preach Governor Soludo’s vision for the state.

The celebrants said that birthdays and marriage anniversaries should be celebrated more than burial; as they are a time to reach out and share love, as well as foster unity among all categories of people.
