Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has stated that the cordial working between the Church and his government has resulted in the development of all sectors of the state, and in particular addressed the high level of insecurity that ravaged Anambra before now.
Governor Soludo stated this at Saint Theresa’s Parish, Uli, when he joined in episcopal holy mass to celebrate the elevation of Uli, Anambra-born Most Reverend Ifeanyichukwu Obiatuegwu, to the position of Auxiliary Bishop of Orlu Diocese by His Holiness, Pope Francis.
Felicitating the Auxiliary Bishop, Governor Soludo, represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi, expressed satisfaction that the huge investment made in education by his administration has improved the quality of teaching and learning in the state.
He urged the church and the people to continue to support his administration to enable him realize his vision for the state.
In his homily, the Auxiliary Bishop of Owerri Archdiocese, Most Reverend Moses Chikwe, thanked Most Reverend Obiatuegwu, for answering God’s divine call, which he said has brought so much joy to the hearts of the people of Orlu Diocese, and enjoined them to always support him through prayers.
In his speech, Most Reverend Obiatuegwu, expressed gratitude to God for choosing him to serve as the Auxiliary Bishop of Orlu Diocese, and assured that he will live up to expectations.
