The Archbishop Eccelestical Province of the Niger and Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim has called on Ministers of God to renew their commitment to service with zeal, and emulate Jesus Christ in both holiness and humility.

Most Reverend Ibezim made the call, at the Cathedral Church of Saint Faith Awka, during a special service to mark the Maundy Thursday.

Archbishop Ibezim in a sermon underscored the importance of true servanthood in the ministry and urged the clergy to work for the growth of the diocese in faithfulness and humble endeavor.

The Archbishop urged the priests to prioritize their attitude over titles or positions, emphasizing that true service transcends nomenclature, urging them to be humble and obedient while stressing that the work of a ministry is a collective effort requiring teamwork and mutual support.

He reminded the ministers of the principles of growth in the ministry, and to carefully study the Bible, teach and preach the word of God and heal the sick as it is their duty to do so.

The service featured renewal of ordination licenses, vows by the diocesan legal team, consecration of chrism oil, and washing of feet of the clergymen by the prelate.

The President, Women’s Ministry, Province of the Niger and Diocese of Awka, Dr. Martha Ibezim and Clergy wives were part of the service.
