As Christians remember the solemn crucifixion of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary, wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, has called for a deeper reflection on love and unconditional sacrifice as humanity’s greatest bond.
Mrs. Soludo who stated this in a Good Friday message which she released in Awka, noted that the ideal practice of Christianity is living in the footprint of Christ and applying the His teachings to work in Daily life.
She pointed out that Christ’s death on the cross of Calvary signifies the height of God’s love for his creation, explaining that mankind is left with the responsibility of replicating same gesture for the overall good of the society .
The governor’s wife also noted that Good Friday is not just another Christian holiday, but an important date that calls man to answer about his actions towards a fellow man and the spiritual impact of Christ’s crucifixion on man’s overall existence.
Mrs. Soludo explained that the death of Jesus Christ on Calvary, which is the ultimate sacrifice, should set a pace for how mankind interprets love, sacrifice, truth and oneness, as well as how mankind can endure in the face of worldly troubles and daily obstacles.
She prayed for peace among warring families, communities, and countries and made special supplications for those living in hardships, people experiencing disaster and communities troubled by crisis and social uprisings, and asked God to remember them.
