Writing about the life and time of Mrs Nneka Fidelia Ifedigbo (Nee Orji) is to write about a woman of excellence, a quintessential icon of elegance and diligence.

On that glorious 20th day of March 1955, a woman of valor, a generous, hard-working, and practical Christian was born into the family of Late PA and Mrs Orji Okosisi of Ukunu village, Agulu in Anaocha local government of Anambra State.

She was the fifth child of her parents and she grew up quiet, obedient, and loved by all.

Late Mrs. Ifedigbo attended Chukwuka Primary School Agulu. On completion of her primary education, she proceeded to a Commercial College where she studied Typewriting and Shorthand.

She got married to the late Mr Samuel Ifedigbo and the marriage was blessed with four surviving children, two males and two females.

She started her career as a Stenographer and later ventured into business out of necessity when things were rough and the economy was very challenging.

Her elder sister invited her to Umunede, Delta State, and introduced her to the banana and groundnut business. The business grew as a result of hard work, integrity, and dedication.

The growth and expansion of the business encouraged her to send for her first son Osita to join her in the business and her other kids later joined in the business as things became much better and stable.

Her first son Chief Osita Ifedigbo later left for Lagos in search of greener pastures and with hard work, integrity, and dedication like his late mother he founded OSSY MAC LTD, a popular name in the electrical section of Alaba International market, Lagos, and later transformed the business into the Maple brand.

Late Mrs Ifedigbo went back to the village where she decided to move into farming and trading and refused to stop the business despite several offers, persuasions, and cajoling which resulted in her son Osita setting up an electrical business for her which she managed effectively till illness and death came knocking.

She was a peace-loving and industrious woman. Her life was one of peace, humility, and love of God and humanity. She was known for her generosity and kindness. She believed so much in justice, equity, and fairness. As a philanthropist, She donated a lot to the church and community through her first son, Chief Ifedigbo.

Late Mrs Ifedigbo was seen as the biblical Dorcas of our time because of the way she helped the poor and the widows. She was an active member of St Mary’s Anglican Church, Agulu, an executive member of the Mother’s Union, and the Treasurer of the association, a post she held till death due to her steadfastness, uprightness, and diligence.

Late Mrs Ifedigbo slept peacefully in the Lord on the 13th day of December, 2023 at the age of sixty eight years following a brief illness.

We believe that the good Lord whom she served all her life will grant her soul everlasting peace.

Mrs Ifedigbo is survived by Chief Osita Ifedigbo , Mr. Onyebuchi Ifedigbo, Mrs. Ngozi Madukaji, and Miss Chiamaka Ifedigbo – children, Mrs. Ndidiamaka Patience Ifedigbo – Daughter-in-law, eleven grandchildren and numerous other relations.
