As Christ Holy Church International celebrated this year’s Mothers Sunday, Christian women have been called upon to uphold the true virtues of motherhood and guide their families closer to God.

 

The Superintendent in-charge of Awka Superintendency of the Church, Venerable David Achukwu made the call in a sermon during the celebration.

In his sermon titled’ Mothers’ Care in the Home,’ Venerable Achukwu highlighted the essential role of mothers in nurturing a godly household and society, urging them to support their husbands in building decent homes.

 

At Christ Holy Church International, Umuawulu, Senior Evangelist Ositadimma Anosike encouraged mothers to be prayerful under the theme “O Lord, Rise Up and Help Us,” acknowledging the heavy responsibilities they bear within the family.

Similarly, Senior Evangelist Godwin Obochi of Christ Holy Church International Nri urged mothers to fulfill their responsibilities diligently.

 

Also speaking, the Head of the Awka Superintendency Women’s and Children’s Department, Deaconess Josephine Achukwu, along with Mrs. Ogechukwu Anosike and Mrs. Nkemdilim Obochi from Christ Holy Church International, Umuawulu and Nri respectively, expressed their anticipation for the Mother’s Sunday celebration, viewing it as an opportunity for self appreciation.

Several mothers who spoke to the ABS, including Mrs. Ijeoma Adiribe, Mrs. Nneka Ikechukwu, Mrs. Ebele Okafor from Christ Holy Church International Umuawulu, and Mrs. Esther Nzomiwu of Christ Holy Church International, Number One Awka emphasized the supportive role of mothers in the home, pledging to contribute positively to both the church and society.

 

Mother’s Sunday in Christ Holy Church is an annual event celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter.

The event was marked by dance, thanksgiving, prayers, and performances by the women.
