A Woman leader Mrs. Mary Enukeme has charged Women to be alive to their responsibilities both at home and in the larger society.

 

Speaking to Newsmen at Christ the King Cathedral, Aba, in Abia State shortly after a Mass to commemorate her Seventieth birthday anniversary, Mrs. Enukeme maintained that Women have crucial role to play in bringing the needed transformation in the society.

She described Women as proper Managers of both human and material resources and canvassed for the appointment of more women into positions of trust.

 

Mrs. Enukeme, who is the president of the prestigious Otu Odu society Neni, in Anaocha Local Government Area, described life as the greatest gift from God, emphasizing the importance of giving thanks to God for adding another year to one’s life.

She noted that attaining the age of seventy is a testament to the mercy and benevolence of God.

 

Mrs. Enukeme used the occasion to felicitate with Catholic Women’s Organization on the 2024 Mother’s Sunday of the Roman Catholic church, urging them to use the opportunity to pray for the sustained peace and development of the Country.

In a remark, the Member representing Anaocha constituency two in the Anambra State House of Assembly Sir Ejike Okechukwu who stressed the need for people to always give thanks to the Lord for His mercies and blessings, described the celebrant, Mrs. Enukeme as an Amazon with many parts.

 

A one-time Vice Chairman of Parish Council Saint James Catholic church Neni, Sir Tochukwu Momah as well as the Assistant Governor of Rotary International District 9142, Mr. Abuchi Nwozor in their various good will messages, wished Mrs. Enukeme more fruitful years ahead.

One of her daughters Mrs. Ifeoma Okpala who read her citation, described their mother as a mobilizer, disciplinarian who loved all her children and has continued to lead them to the ways of the Lord, praying God to give her long life and sound health.

 

The ceremony was graced by members of Aba Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture ABACCIMA, captains of industry, staff and management of Tonimas Nigeria Limited, representatives of Anambra State Council of Traditional Prime Ministers, the Religious, among others.

Highlight of the event was the observance of a minute silence for the fallen founder of Tonimas Nigeria Limited, Dr Anthony Enukeme, who was the husband of the celebrant, Mrs. Enukeme and cutting of birthday cake by the celebrant flanked by her six children.
