Anambra State Governor’s wife, Nonye Soludo, led other women through intense workout sessions in a bid to get them understand the benefits of physical fitness and healthy lifestyle.
The exercise, which took place at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, was attended by female government functionaries, including Commissioners, heads of agencies and parastatals, and wives of government appointees, among others.
The workout session, which is part of Mrs Soludo’s daily routines, took about an hour and involved several intense techniques and mild aerobics.
There were also lightweight lifting, short runs and other side attractions to make the whole session an inspiring one.
Speaking shortly after the exercise, the convener, Mrs Soludo, said that her aim was to build that mindset in the women and teach them the basics of normal physical fitness.
She stated that working out does not have to be too intense to have an effect, pointing out that incorporating dances and walking into one’s daily workout routine could also serve as a good way to exercise.
The Governor’s wife also urged the women to carry on with the routine as a daily affair, and to teach those around them, reassuring them that the gains would be worth the time and energy.
