The immediate past Transition Committee Chairman of Awka North Local Government Area, Comrade ThankGod Anago has commended the wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Mrs. Nonye Soludo for the launching of tree planting campaign.
Comrade Anago while extolling Mrs. Soludo for the great initiative, noted that tree planting will help to combat climate change and enhance environmental sustainability and avoid degradation.
The former Awka North mayor who enumerated the various importance of tree planting in checkmating climate change, promoting air quality, and preserving biodiversity, added that the initiative is a critical component of Governor Soludo’s environmental protection efforts.
He equally eulogized Mrs. Soludo for her “Healthy Living Initiative, which he said focuses on transforming health and environment, adding that trees play critical roles in the ecosystem and contribute to the efforts against climate change.
Recall that Governor Soludo had earlier launched the “One House, Two Trees” campaign initiative that mandates every house owner in Anambra to plant at least two trees within their compound and vicinity.
