The immediate past Transition Committee Chairman of Anambra East Local Government Area, Dr. Anselm Onuorah says that Governor Chukwuma Soludo is building a strong institution of democracy in the state.
Dr. Onuorah stated this while congratulating Governor Soludo on his landmark achievement by signing eleven bills of the State House of Assembly into Law.
The former TC Chairman noted that the signing of the bills into law marks a significant milestone in the progress of Anambra State, and that it demonstrates the Governor’s commitment to the progress and well-being of the State.
According to Dr. Onuorah, the Anambra State Electoral Law, 2024, is a significant milestone in enhancing the state’s democratic process and it ensures the conduct of free, fair, and credible elections, boosting the confidence of citizens in the electoral system, as the law is a bold step towards ensuring the integrity and transparency of the electoral process.
He made it clear that the law will foster a more credible and inclusive democracy as well as empowering the citizens of Anambra State.
Dr. Onuorah further disclosed that the establishment of the Anambra State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission is equally a laudable initiative that will foster economic growth, infrastructural development, and improved the living standards of the people in oil-producing areas which Anambra East is part of, and address as the needs of the host communities by promoting economic prosperity.
He maintained that the other bills signed into law demonstrate the current administration’s commitment to tackling various challenges, addressing critical areas such as touting prohibition, cult activities prevention, health facilities accreditation, peace building, conflict management, market safety, trafficking prevention, and revenue administration.
The laws Dr. Onuorah noted, underscored Governor Soludo’s comprehensive approach to governance and his desire to build strong institutions that are based on democratic principles, adding that his leadership and vision are truly shaping a brighter future for the State.
