The Vicar, Church of the Holy Spirit, Paul University Awka, Venerable Dr Onyeka Egwuonwu, has tasked fathers on forgiveness in running the affairs of their families, and advised them not to scandalize the weakness of their homes.

 

speaking on the theme, “Christian fathers are living testimonies of God’s glory” during church service to mark 2024 Father’s Sunday of the Anglican Communion, Venerable Egwuonwu reminded fathers that God will judge every act of irresponsibility in running their homes, reasons he charged them to look up to God in times of trouble.

He explained that God shares himself in men for certain purposes, including attending to the needs of both biological and foster children.

 

Venerable Egwuonwu, who described single parenting as against the will of God, explained that anything contrary to the will of God will surely cause problem for man in future, regretting that some philosophies of life have led many astray.

Chairman the 2024 Father’s Day Planning Committee, Engineer Chukwunonso Igboekwe, and his predecessor, Dr Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, said the event is important in the life of Christian fathers, and urged members to put to use all they were told on the day, and to lead their families with love while trusting in God.

The church service feature musical presentation by the fathers, reading of Bishop’s charge to fathers, rededication of fathers present, and inauguration of Council of Laity of the church headed by the Chairman, Christian Men’s Fellow of the church, Dr Raymond Offor, and Secretary, Mrs Esther Odogwu.
