The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor, says Christian fathers as pastors of their various families have a crucial role to play in bringing the needed change and transformation in the society.

Speaking in the significance of the International Father’s Day, which is celebrated on third Sunday in June, Right Reverend Ezeofor, who traced the origin of the Day, tasked Christian fathers on living lives capable of winning more souls for Christ.

Bishop Ezeofor regretted the high rate of rascality amongst some Christian fathers and cautioned against acts capable of debasing fatherhood.

He reminded Christian fathers of their enormous responsibilities in their various families, the church and larger society, urging them to always make their impact felt anywhere they find themselves.

Right Reverend Ezeofor, who is also the National Chairman of the Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican communion, EFAC, Nigeria, charged Christian fathers to always invest in the education of their children to secure a bright future for them.

He called on government at different levels to create a special programme that will take care of the elderly and aged, and warned against maltreatment of the elders in the society.

Bishop Ezeofor tasked Christian fathers and ministers of God on synergizing towards directing the youths to the path of morality, regretting the high rate of idolatry among the youths who are the future leaders of both the church and larger society.
