Children of Holy Ghost Ministries Incorporated Nigeria have joined their counterparts to celebrate the International Day of the African Child. The Holy Ghost Cathedral, Ngozika Estate, Awka was a beehive of activities and the atmosphere filled with excitement in commemoration of the day.
The President of Holy Ghost Ministries, Reverend Ephraim Ndife explained that the significance of the Day of the African child as a day to celebrate the resilience and strength of African children, appreciated the teachers who taught the children as their future heavily depends on the quality of their teaching.
For another minister, Reverend Christy Ndife, the celebration goes a long way to making the children realize who they are and how to use their God-given talents and opportunities to create a beautiful future for themselves, their families and the society at large.
Earlier in a message, one of the children, Master Heaven Mmaduabuchukwu stated that children are the future of Africa and that it is important to invest in them.
He asked parents and guardians to train their children in the way they should follow so that they will not depart from it and encouraged the congregation to support those who are fighting for the rights of children and to help improve the lives of African children.
The celebration featured prayers for the children, songs, drama ministrations and many others.
The day of the African child reminds children and their parents of the importance of their heritage and how much they have to offer the world.
