The Senior Pastor of Redeemed Christian Church, Ogidi Branch, Pastor Samuel Oluyemi has charged Christians to shun love for worldly possessions and devote more time to righteousness in order to make heaven.

 

Pastor Oluyemi gave the admonition in his sermon during the funeral service of the late Sir Pius Obiegbolu, the father of Mr Casmir Obiegbolu of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, held in his compound, Ogbunike in Oyi local government area.

Pastor Oluyemi who described death as inevitable for all morals cautioned Christians against love for material things that can lead them to sit and rob them of eternal glory.

 

He reminded them that their stay on earth is for a while and advised them to use their short period on earth to prepare for heaven to escape eternal damnation.

The funeral ceremony which was well attended by the ABS management team and staff led by the Acting Deputy Director of Engineering Mr Paul Okoye who represented the Managing Director of the establishment, Sir Chido Obidiegwu consoled the family of the late Obiogbolu on the demise of their father and prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul and continuous progress, peace and unity of his family.

While welcoming the ABS family, the younger brother of the deceased, Mr Chukwuemeka Obiegbolu described him as a straightforward man that who taught them to be on the side of truth in a situation they find themselves, assuring that he will lead the entire Obiegbolu family with the ideals of the deceased to keep his legacy alive.

 

The Director of Programmes, Anambra Broadcasting Service, Mrs. Nneka Ekwunife advised the family of the deceased to live in unity and with the ideals their father inculcated in them, even as she prayed God to give them the fortitude to bear the loss.

 

Speaking on behalf of the family of the late Obiegbolu, his first son, Mr Casmir Obiegbolu described the death of his father as painful.

He however thanked God that his father who died at the age of sixty-seven loved the things of God and taught them to put all their trust in Him, assuring that he will follow his footsteps.
