The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor, says being born again makes Christians to desist from loving earthly things.
In a sermon at Saint Mark’s Church, Ajalli, in Orumba North Local Government Area, during a service of confirmation and admission into Mothers’ Union and Girls’ Guild for all parishes under Ajalli Archdeaconry, Bishop Ezeofor, called on Christians to always give God their undivided love.
Right Reverend Ezeofor, while listing the numerous benefits of loving God, tasked parents and Ministers of God to make youths to love God in order to secure a brighter future for them and stressed the need for the federal and various governments to create more opportunities for youths, who are the future leaders, to enable them to assert their roles positively.
Right Reverend Ezeofor, who is also the National Chairman of the Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican Communion, EFAC Nigeria, charged the federal government to prioritize the welfare of citizens, and regretted the hardships Nigerians are facing, even as he canvassed for more oriented programmes and policies that will improve the living standards of the people.
The Anglican Prelate regretted the exodus of many multinational companies from Nigeria due to unfriendly government policies and charged the government to create a more business-friendly environment that will attract both foreign and local firms to boost the economy and create employment opportunities for the people.
Right Reverend Ezeofor, during the service, cautioned those admitted into Mothers’ Union and Girls’ Guild not to see it as a title rather to use their new positions to win more souls for Christ.
In a remark, the Vicar of Saint Mark’s Church, Ajalli, and Archdeacon of Ajalli Archdeaconry, Venerable Nwachineke Ekwueme, thanked Bishop Ezeofor for the visit, which he described as a morale booster to the parishioners and charged Christians to always practice what is contained in the Holy Scripture to inherit the kingdom of God.
The President of the Aguata Diocesan Women’s Ministry, Mrs. Chinyere Ezeofor, and some Diocesan officials attended the service, which featured a series of prayers for those in leadership positions, Anambra State, and Nigerian at large.
Sixty-six candidates received the sacrament of confirmation, while twenty girls were admitted into the Girls’ Guild and eighteen women into the Mothers’ Union during the service.
