The wife of the governor of Anambra State and founder of the non-governmental crusade, Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has disclosed that her free seeds programme could continue beyond the current July thirty first date.

Mrs Soludo, who stated this in Awka while discussing the impact of the project, explained that with the growing interest by so many people who want to benefit from the programme, it has become necessary to extend the deadline to cover more people.

She noted that the current target of covering five hundred persons is being revisited in order to come up with a new number that will justify the interests from intending beneficiaries and described the current outcome of the programme as massive, pointing out that the increased interest means that people have become aware of the urgent need for organic food sufficiency.

She maintained that those who devote great time to their garden and have sent proofs of the whole cultivation processes would be rewarded for their efforts, and urged more people to embrace the gesture as the state aims to achieve maximum agriculture boost and transformation within the shortest possible time.

Mrs Soludo also explained that in the long run, homes in the state would be able to have their own gardens, which would help food sufficiency and build healthy dietary choices among families.

The governor’s wife further cautioned beneficiaries of the free seeds to stick to all the rules for their cultivation, most importantly, sticking to organic methods for planting and breeding.
