Investment in Education has been described as the greatest legacy that could be bequeathed to the younger Generation by leaders.
The submission was highlighted by a philanthropist Chief Okwudili Ugochukwu as he sponsored the maiden edition of the inter-sinter-school quiz competition for secondary schools in Nnobi Idemili South Local Government Area.
Correspondent Ifeoma Okigbo reports that the quiz competition organized by the Nnobi Youth Graduate Forum under the Umbrella of the Association of Nnobi Youths was aimed at promoting academic Excellence, teamwork, and healthy Competition among the secondary schools in Nnobi.
The competition was grouped into three rounds for the eight Schools that participated in the competition.
At the end of the event, Zion Secondary School Nnobi emerged winner of the Competition, while Christ. The King Seminary, Nnobi came second, and the third position went to Our Lady’s secondary school Nnobi.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo who was represented by his Special Adviser on youth empowerment programme, Dr, Nelson Omenugha Commended Chief Ugochukwu for contributing to human capital development.
He emphasized that Education is the bedrock of the society and the best legacy a society can transfer to Children and encouraged them to continue to excel in their studies to actualize their dreams in Life.
Addressing the students, the Sponsor of the competition Chief Ugochukwu represented by Chief CharlyPaul Obidike said he is a lover of Education and advised the students to continue to study hard, make the best use of their time, while announcing gifts and a year Scholarship for the winners.
The member representing, Idemili South Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr. Ebuka Igwe represented by the Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Nnobi Ward three, Mr Ifeanyi Agu, advised the students to take their studies seriously.
In their separate remarks, the President-General of Nnobi, Barrister Dominicsavio Okpala, the youth leader, Ambassador Chiagoziem Akonu, the woman Leader of the Community, Lady Ifenyinwa Nnekwelugo, the Chairman Ngo Village Nnobi, Dr Patrick Mbanefo and the Chairman of the planning committee of the competition, Comrade Udoka Ezeimo, the Public Relations Officer Mr. Chidiebele Ojukwu, and central Co-ordinator youth women wing Chizoba Udoka prayed for God’s blessings on Chief Ugochukwu for using his resources in promoting Education in the Community.
Presentation of gifts to the participants and other side attractions such as dance, debate, and drama also featured at the event.
