Association of Educational Management and Policy Practitioners has converged on Awka for its Second international Conference.

 

The Conference organized by the association in partnership with Global Research Network, United States of America and United Kingdom has its Theme as, “Digitization of Educational Management System”.

The Conference had in attendance the academia from across Nigeria, Overseas,

 

government functionaries as well as the representative of the traditional ruler of Awka, Obi Gibson Nwosu.

Declaring the conference open at ASUU Secretariat Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, the National President of the association, Professor John Undie said they are in the fourth industrial revolution and the world is moving towards digitization.

 

Professor Undie who is also the founder of the association, commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his deputy for their outstanding performances in the education sector of the state and the security architecture in place which gave the association the confidence to hold the conference in the state.

The Deputy-Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim represented by Barrister Chukwunonso Chukwudi described the theme of the conference as apt and called on all sectors in Nigeria to move forward to digital world.

 

In her welcome address the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Professor Carol Arinze-Umobi represented by the Dean Faculty of Education, Professor Vivian Nwogbo explained that they are not only in the conference to exchange knowledge and ideas but to collectively save the future of Educational Management and Policy on a global scale.

The Keynote Speaker and Dean Faculty of Education, University of Lagos, Professor Simeon Oladipo said there is need for Nigerians to embrace digitization and artificial intelligence.

 

In his presentation the lead Paper Presenter, Professor Uzoma Nworgu of University of Port Harcourt, pointed out that all educational institutions that aspire to use Artificial Intelligence tools must develop Artificial Intelligence policies for safety.

On the reason behind the theme of the conference, the Chairman Local Organizing Committee, Professor Isaac Nwankwo explained that Nigeria’s educational management system has been riddled with problems saying that the conference is to fashion ways to solve these problems through digitization.

 

Anambra State Deputy Governor Dr Ibezim, Chaplain to Governor Soludo, Reverend Father Raphael Onyekwelu were among those conferred with the Fellowship of Association of Educational Management and Policy Practitioners, while the Vice-Chancellor of Taraba State University, Professor Paul Bako was given leadership award.
