The Deputy Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Chukwuma Okoye has donated a brand new Sienna bus to the Anglican Youth Fellowship of Awka Diocese.

 

Right Honourable Okoye who delivered the bus to the Fellowship at Saint Marks Anglican Church, Umuawulu in Awka South Local Government Area during their Sunday service, said it was in fulfillment of a promise he made earlier during his campaign that brought him for second term at Anambra State House of Assembly.

While saying that the fulfilment of all his promises has remained the bond between him and God, the Deputy Speaker who also represents Awka South Constituency Two, said the donation was also to thank God for his goodness and mercies in his life and family.

The Lawmaker said he is in love with the fellowship because it is a place where unadulterated word of God is preached to the youths and appealed to members to continue to give maximum support to Soludo administration to continue to deliver good governance to all the communities in the state.

Earlier in a sermon during the service, the Vicar of the Church and the Awka Diocesan Chaplain of AYF, Reverend Canon Nnamdi Ajaoku appreciated Right Honourable Okoye for his show of love and for fulfilling his promises which he said will enable the association in the expansion of God’s Kingdom on earth, praying God to bless him with wisdom and strength to continue to represent the people of the constituency better.

Contributing, the Transition Committee Chairman of Awka South Local Government Area, Prince Chinedu Okafor and the Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in the council area, Barrister Lawrence Chukwuma said the testament of the unique leadership style of Right Honourable Okoye is enshrined in the mantra of APGA as a political party and eulogized the state lawmaker for placing the interest of the constituents above others and assured that the party and the council area will also be of immense support and strength to him.

Responding, the President of AYF, in Awka Diocese, Mr. Chinaza Okoye appreciated the state lawmaker for being an outstanding leader whose door has always remained open to his constituents and addressing their issues.

The church service featured praise session, thanksgiving, prayers for the lawmaker, handing over the keys and inspection of the vehicle.

Later, the Deputy Speaker also visited Saint Joseph the Worker Chaplaincy, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka for the official opening of the new rectory of the Chaplaincy which has nine apartments with state-of-art modern facilities.

The opening of the rectory was well attended by government functionaries including the Secretary to Anambra State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi and Chief of Protocol to Governor Chukwuma, Sir Chinedu Nwoye among others.
