Anambra State Government has kicked off the installation of CCTVs in all the markets in the state.
The installation of the CCTVs was kicked off at New Auto Spare Parts Market, Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area.
Speaking to the ABS, the Engineer handling the contract, Mr Bobfrancis Chukwugozie stated that the installation of the CCTVs is to curb incessant breaks-in and all forms of crimes recorded in markets.
He disclosed that he chose to start with New Auto Parts Market, Nkpor because of its organization and will from there move to other markets.
Engineer Chukwugozie assured that the installation will be completed in one month.
The Chairman of the Market, Chief Stephen Oforleh, commended the efforts of Governor Chukwuma Soludo in securing the state and thanked him for the laudable initiative.
Chief Oforleh also appreciated the Special Adviser to the Governor on Trades and Markets, Chief Evaristus Uba and the President General, Anambra State Markets Amalgamated Traders’ Association, ASMATA, Chief Humphrey Anuna for their efforts towards realizing the project.
