The remains of late Mrs. Uchesoruonye Caroline Okafor have been laid to rest at her country home; Eziagu Ebenasa Amichi, Nnewi South council area.
Speaking during the funeral Mass at her compound at Eziagu Ebenasa, one of the presiding priests, Reverend Father Christian Mbaukwu in his homily, reminded those present to understand that death is inevitable for every mortal, as no man can escape such reality and urged Christians not to be deceived that life ends on earth.
Reverend Father Mbaukwu urged Christians not to be distracted but to focus on God, his ways and teachings even as he prayed for the soul of the departed to rest in peace.
The eldest son of the deceased, Mr. Boniface Okafor remarked that the mother was a loving and caring woman, who made him what he is and worked hard all her life to raise her children since the demise of her husband early in her marriage and served God till the end of her life.
The first daughter of the deceased, Mrs. Ifeoma Orji, explained that their late Mother was a generous woman, who affected the life of many positively and was also sociable with her singing and dancing skills and urged the living to live uprightly.
Another of her daughter, Mrs. Chimamaka Umeh, said being virtuous, loving, caring and generous were the astounding virtues of her mother, who she said was a hardworking woman after losing her husband at the age of twenty-two as she learnt being positive and hardworking from her.
A sympathizer who came to condole with the family, Mr. Wilson Alozie urged the family to take heart, as their mother lived a wonderful life as a mother, caring for her children.
A former Governorship aspirant in Anambra State, chief George Moughalu, amongst other personalities came to condole with the family, as dance and music performances from women groups and life bands featured prominently during the burial ceremony.
Late Mrs. Okafor died at the age of seventy-seven and was popularly called Asa Mma
