The Nigeria Export Promotion Council, NEPC, Anambra State Office and UB Brima Logistics and Travels Limited have launched an initiative to educate and empower Nigerian exporters on the African Continental Free Trade Agreement, AfCFTA.
UB Brima Logistics & Travels Limited is a privately owned custom licensed holder company that caters for the export and import needs of its customers.
With expertise in global logistics management services, they provide investment promotion opportunities, trade, and representation services in Central, West, and East African countries, such as Benin Republic, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Togo, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, and Uganda.
The programme, with the theme “AfCFTA: Unlocking the African Frontier for Export Opportunities”, aims to utilize the African Trade House in Cameroon as a veritable access point to Central African markets.
The initiative seeks to bridge the knowledge gap and provide a platform for Nigerian businesses to tap into the vast potential of the AfCFTA agreement.
The programme focuses on capacity building, market research, and trade facilitation, with the ultimate goal of increasing Nigeria’s export volume and revenue.
Anambra State Co-ordinator of the Nigeria Export Promotion Council, NEPC, Mr Peter Ndom, said the collaboration agreement presents a huge opportunity for Nigerian exporters to access new markets and increase their revenue.
He also stated that the objective is to educate and empower exporters to take advantage of this agreement and utilize the African Trade House in Cameroon as a gateway to Centra urging Ndi Anambra to tap into this opportunity, as opportunities like these are rare.
A former Commissioner for Women Affairs in Anambra State and Southeast Coordinator of Women in Export, Mrs Bridget Obi said, it was time to work towards maximizing Nigeria’s export potential.
A renowned Cameroonian entrepreneur, Rouben Tamba Nyepgang who led the African Youth Guarantee Fund and UB Brima Investment and Logistics Limited said the programme was to expose manufacturers in Anambra State to UB Brima Logistics and Travels Ltd’s Trade house in Cameroon so they can tap into markets in Cameroon and across the Central African Region.
Dornukie Agblo, representative of UB Brima in Ghana, urged entrepreneurs to overcome their fear of loss and embrace exporting and said that most people prefer importing to exporting because of fear of loss, but explained that with adequate information, there is nothing to fear.
Mr. Obianika Ebuka, Managing Director of Obikason Agrobusiness and a beneficiary of UB Brima’s export program, shared his success story with the initiative and urged people to take advantage of this opportunity and witness the impact of UB Brima’s trade house in Cameroon for themselves.
