People across five states in the South-East United States have been left stranded, without shelter and awaiting rescue after devastating Hurricane Helene killed more than sixty-three people and caused massive power outages.

More than two point six million customers are still without electricity across ten states from Florida in the South-East to Indiana in the Midwest.

Helene slammed into Florida last Thursday as a Category four hurricane and surged north, gradually weakening but leaving a trail of destruction: uprooted trees, downed power lines and homes damaged by mudslides.
