As part of activities marking his birthday celebration, the Deputy Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Chukwuma Okoye has gifted a brand-new car to one of his constituents and one hundred and fifty ten-kilogram bags of rice to indigent people from the seven communities that make up Awka South II constituency.

The birthday celebration which started with a thanksgiving mass at his residence in Amawbia, Awka South council area, drew friends, family members, well-wishers, top government functionaries, politicians, and captains of industry from within and outside the state.
During the homily, the Parish Priest of St Joseph’s Catholic Church Amawbia, Reverend Father Jerome Nwafor-Nso, commended Right Honourable Okoye for recognizing God as the bedrock of his life.


Presenting cash gifts and the bags of rice to the beneficiaries shortly after cutting of the birthday cake, the celebrant, Right Honourable Okoye, who was flanked by his wife, Mrs Chiugo Okoye, said that the best way to be celebrated is to be celebrated by the needy and one’s constituents.

Handing over the car key to Dr. Ngozi Ekwunife, the former National Chairman of the All-Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Victor Oye, recalled how dedication of Dr. Ekwunife has been the development of Awka South II Constituency, asking others to remain committed to APGA as a political party.
