A new Archdeaconary has been created in Ogbaru Diocese, Anglican Communion by the Bishop of Ogbaru Diocese Right Reverend Prosper Amah.
The new Archdeaconary, named Bethel Model Archdeaconary was created from Odekpe Archdeaconary with Venerable Jasper Ezike as the Pioneer Archdeacon.
In his sermon during the church service the Ogbaru Diocesan Bishop Right Reverend Amah reminded Christians of the mission and commission of the church which is spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to all frontier advising the congregation not to lose sight of their vision about the second coming of Christ.
He advised the parishioners of the new Archdeaconary to make use of all the tools deposited in the New Archdeaconary to make Christ known in every part of the world they find themselves for the expansion of God’s Kingdom.
In his welcome address the Chairman Inauguration Planning Committee Sir Kingsley Uwakwe appreciated the progressive change and dynamic elevation being recorded at Ogbaru Diocese since Bishop Amah took the mantle of leadership of the Diocese.
Sir Kingsley who expressed gratitude to God and same to the Bishop for carving out the new Archdeaconary which comprises of three churches namely Bethel Church, living spring Anglican Church and Divine Favour Anglican Church Odekpe pleaded with the Bishop to include two more Churches that are around the area as part of the Archdeaconary.
Speaking to the ABS in an interview a parishioner of Bethel Anglican church Iyowa Odekpe Dame Chinyere Mbakwe whose Joy knew no bound described Right Reverend Amah as an action Bishop whose commitment and zeal for God’s work have resulted to smooth running of the diocese calling on the parishioners to remain resolute in the service of God.
A guest at the event Sir Okechukwu Nwangwu congratulated the pioneer Archdeacon Venerable Jasper Ezike and members of Bethel model Archdeaconary for the new elevation urging the parishioners not to relent in working in the Lord’s vineyard as they will be rewarded accordingly.
Venerable Jasper Ezike who expressed gratitude to God and same to the Bishop for his collation, institution and induction as a pioneer Archdeacon, thanked God for a successful inauguration of the new Archdeaconary calling for the collaborative efforts of the parishioners in order to move the Archdeaconary forward while his wife Mrs Uche Ezike expressed joy for the outcome of the event and called on women to remain firm in their responsibility of being a help meet to their husbands for them to actualize their destiny.
highlights of the events include blessing of various places of worship, presentation of the pioneer Archdeacon to the congregation and administration of Canonical Oat by the Bishop among others.
