As Nigerians commemorate their 64th independence anniversary, a former federal lawmaker, Hon. Chinedu Obidigwe has urged Nigerians to remain focused and resilient, saying that he is optimistic of a better future.

In his independence message to Nigerians, the former federal lawmaker who represented Anambra East and West federal constituency said that though the country is in shambles at the moment, with good leadership in place, the country will get to enviable heights.

He regretted the high inflation rate in the country, high cost of living, hunger and abject poverty, insecurity and kidnapping for ransom, youth unemployment among others, urging the federal government to redouble its efforts to re-launch the country into economic prosperity.

Hon. Obidigwe also extolled the leadership qualities of Governor Chukwuma Soludo which he said has brought an unprecedented developments in all facets of the State economy, urging Ndi Anambra to keep supporting the Soludo’s administration.

According to the former federal lawmaker, Anambra is moving from strength to you due to the Governor’s innovative leadership style, and called on the federal government to emulate some of the Soludo’s policies and programmes including the one youth two skills entrepreneurship initiative, free education, free antennal and delivery services among numerous others.

Hon. Obidigwe further commended Anambra electorate for voting massively for the All Progressives Grand Alliance candidates in the just concluded Anambra local government election, which gave the party victory in the 21 local government areas of the state.
