The Deputy Minority Whip of the Anambra State House of Assembly and Member representing Anaocha Constituency One, Honourable Nkechi Ogbuefi, has called on government at different levels to declare a state of emergency on hunger.

She made the call while empowering over fifty tricycle operators in Anaocha Constituency One with ten-kilogramme bags of rice each, through her food intervention Initiative, as part of events lined up to mark world food day.


The event took place at Agulu Town Hall, where indigenes and non-indigenes from the constituency are the beneficiaries.
During the ceremony the Lawmaker said she had a covenant with God to always save lives through interventions.

In their remarks, the Chairman of tricycle operators, in Anaocha Local Government Area, Mr. Jude Obianisi among others said such intervention has never been witnessed in the area, and appreciated the Lawmaker.


Some beneficiaries, Evangelist Elias Ogbuefi, Mr. Chike Anyaoke and Mr. Cyprian Okafor, appreciated the lawmaker for her kind gesture.
