Late Mrs Monica Okoye, who passed away at the age of ninety six, has been laid to rest in Etti Village, Nanka, Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Ezinne Okoye is remembered by loved ones as a beacon of peace, a role model, and a mother to all.


She is survived by seventeen children, nine biological children and eight step children, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

During the burial mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Nanka, Reverend. Father. Felix Efuobi from Holy Family Parish, Achalla, Awka North council area, urged Christians to live lives worthy of emulation, reminding them that death is inevitable, acknowledging that the late Ezinne Okoye is known for her humility and devotion to God, encouraging her children to follow her example.


Some of her sons, Chief Ambrose, Mr. Innocent, Sir Augustine, and Barrister. Clifford Okoye, described their mother as a gracious and loving woman who showed no discrimination and cared for all children equally, emphasizing her role as a unifying force in the family and vowed to uphold her legacy.

Her daughter, Mrs. Anthonia Oneagha, daughters-in-law, Mrs. Helen-Chika Okoye and Dr. Uju Okoye, as well as her grandson Mr. Sunday-Innocent Okoye Jr, shared heartfelt tributes of her humility, industriousness, and kindness, saying her passing has left a deep void in their hearts despite her advanced age.


Dignitaries that attended the event included the Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike, and legal practitioners including Clem Nwoye, Ifeanyi Obiako, and Ego Amamgbo.

Traditional rulers, priests, members of the Nigeria Bar Association, Aguata branch, and others were also present at the ceremony, which featured musical performances by the Catholic Women Organization of Holy Trinity Church, Nanka, and a cultural dance display.
