The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim has restated the commitment of the Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration towards youth development and empowerment.

The Deputy Governor stated this during the 2024 exhibition ceremony of St. John’s Innovation Institute of Management and Technology, Neni, in Anaocha Local Government Area.

Dr Ibezim harped on the need for youths in the state to give themselves to learning and embrace skills, in order to become self reliant and employers of labour, as according to him, that is the best way to go in the present economic reality in Nigeria.

Deputy Governor Ibezim assured that the government of Professor Soludo will keep giving youths in the state all necessary supports as they are the future and hope of the state.

Earlier in a homily, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor reminded parents of the need to make sure their children learn one or more skills, even as he asked government at all levels to provide enabling environment for young people and businesses to thrive.

In separate speeches, the Chairman on the occasion, Chief Azubuike Ekweozor, and the President General of Neni community, Sir Christian Ikebudu commended Governor Soludo and the Awka Catholic Diocese for channeling the attention of the teaming youths into skill acquisition and providing enabling environment for them, saying that such will go a long way in tackling unemployment among youths.

The Deputy Governor took time to inspect various sections of the exhibition ground where items produced by the students were displayed, including fashion and design, cosmetology, confectionery sections, among others.
