The Anambra West Local Government Area Mayor, Mr. Fidelis Nnazor says that the council has opened two holding centres for the flood affected people in the area to relocate.
Mr. Nnazor who said that he has personally toured the whole local government and observed that the area has been submerged, said that one of the holding centres is at Ajayi Crowther Onitsha while the second camp is located at Umueri, after Omambala Bridge in Anambra East Local Government Area.
The Anambra West Mayor assured that the government will do everything humanly possible to alleviate the suffering of the flood affected people and appreciated Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his numerous support so far.
Mr. Nnazor further revealed that boats and vehicles have been provided for the evacuation of the displaced persons, appealing to everybody to relocate to the holding centres for their safety as the government has made provisions for their overall welfare.
