The Executive Chairman of Oyi Local Government Area, Barrister Emma Nweke has inaugurated Oyi Local Government Legislative Congress.
The Inauguration ceremony held at Oyi local council Secretariat Nteje.
The event also featured election of Mr. Nnaemeka Nwabude as leader and Mr. Samuel Azubuike as the Deputy leader of the congress.
Mr. Ndubuisi Okeke was elected as the Chief Whip, Ogechukwu Machie Deputy Chief whip while Mr. Emmanuel Anaemena is the Majority leader.
Inaugurating members of the congress who are sixteen in number, the Oyi Mayor, Barrister Nweke said that he is happy that democracy is taking root in Anambra and Oyi Local Government Area by extension, and called on Ndi Oyi to give APGA and Governor Chukwuma Soludo maximum support as always.
The Leader of the Congress, Mr. Nwabude on behalf of the Congress pledged to work hard to ensure that the council moves from strength to strength.
The Clerk of the Council Mr. Osita Chigbata presided over the election.
