Governor Chukwuma Soludo has admonished people to aspire to live the life exemplified by Pope John Paul Two who was an astute ecumenist.

Governor Soludo was speaking at the maiden feast and thanksgiving celebration in honour of Pope John Paul Two at Pope John Paul Two Major Seminary, Okpuno in Awka South Local Government Area.

According to the Governor, Pope John Paul Two reached out to all faiths and described him as follower of his stead, which he said manifests in the policies of his administration and enumerated his administration’s strides in education, health, and infrastructure, adding that they are designed to benefit the forgotten people and places, with the target of making Anambra the destination point and not a departure lounge.

Earlier in a homily, Very Reverend Father P.E Akpunonu, described Pope John Paul as a studious person who spoke ten different languages and interacted with different people, calling on the seminarians to emulate Pope John Paul.

The Governor was accompanied to the ceremony by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze, the Member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency, Dr. Paschal Agbodike, Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, among others.
