Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr Nkem Okeke, has called on youths to make informed decisions at all times, especially during the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the State.

Deputy Governor, Okeke was speaking during inauguration of Youths’ Stakeholders for Willie Obiano Re-election held at Professor Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Centre, Awka. The venue of the event was filled to capacity with coordinators which included youths drawn from the twenty one council areas of the State Admonishing the youths, Deputy Governor Okeke reminded them of the roles they ought to play today bearing their future in mind, urging them to avoid being used as agents to destroy their own future.

Inaugurating the coordinators earlier, Chief Mrs Bianca Ojukwu, said that the group has a critical role to play as a grassroot movement, stressing that the current situation in the country demands that they rise to the occasion and consolidate support for the All Progressives Grand Alliance , as according to her, it is the only party with a strong ideology. Chief Mrs Ojukwu who emphasized that Governor Obiano has among other things, achieved the number one development index which is security, stressed the need for everyone to rise up to the challenge of ensuring the sustainance of the gains already recorded by the present leadership, and return the Governor and his Deputy for another four years with an overwhelming majority.

In a vote of thanks, the Transition Committee Chairman for Oyi Council Area, Mr Charles Okafor, thanked the youths for engaging themselves, calling for more support for the present leadership. Also present at the event was the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Grassroots and Youth Mobilization, Dr Onyeka Ibezim, the National Coordinator of the Group, Prince Nnamso Nwafor Orizu, among others.
