Governor Chukwuma Soludo says the Late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and other heros past sowed the seed of progress and pointed out that Igbo man excels because he utilizes his knowledge.

The Governor stated this at the third Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Memorial Lecture series at the Igbariam campus of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University.

The Governor represented by his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim said while Nigerians celebrate their heros past, they should reflect on the devastating effects of violence.


The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Kate Omenugha assured that her administration is very intentional about ensuring that the University reflects the true image of the man whose name it bears.

The guest Lecturer and former Aviation Minister, Chief Osita Chidoka said there is need for a holistic model of education which fosters values, civic duty and commitment to common good.

A former Minister of Information, Dr. Labaran Maku, used the opportunity to call on President Bola Tinubu to release Mr Nnamdi Kanu to douse the agitations in the South-East.


The Chairman Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Education, Honourable Anayo Okpalaeke, Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, traditional ruler of Ogidi, Igwe Alex Onyido, among others attended the ceremony which also featured a documentary on Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu’s Vision.
