Today is  international men’s day. It is a day set aside to promote and appreciate the male gender as well as foster dialogue about issues affecting men and create awareness on need  to promote their general wellbeing including  spiritual growth, emotional, social, and physical health.

It  is a day to show love and appreciation to men all over the world for their  contributions and achievements in  children’s up bringing which translates to happy homes, families, marriages, communities, states, nations and  the entire globe.

Similarly,  Nigeria joins other countries of the  world to also mark

World toilet day today  with emphasis on putting a stop to open defecation. It provides opportunity to increase  awareness on the  importance of  sanitation and green healthy environment as recommended by the World Health Organization and a key pillar in Professor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision for ndi Anambra.

Many homes without  toilet facilities are being remembered and the need for well meaning individuals, associations and government at  all levels to reach out in providing them with  toilets to promote  hygiene as part of measures towards enhancing healthy living in line with Governor Soludo’s disruptive change mantra and  vision of a livable state.

It is a welcome coincidence therefore that today is also the birthday of Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, the Deputy Governor of Anambra State.

Dr. Ibezim has lived a life of service as a Medical Doctor  from his days at the Ministry of Defence, pulling out at directorate level, to come back home  and serve Ndi Anambra and society in general.  He has served Anambra in various capacities in the last ten years. He  was the first Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Empowerment,  first Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Mobilization, first Special Adviser to the Governor on Indigenous Medicine. Executive Director Anambra State Agency for the Control of AIDS (ANSACA) and Pioneer  Managing Director Anambra State Oxygen Production Plant which kept lots of people alive during the COVID-19 Pandemic.  These assignments he was never found wanting in his responsibilities as he delivered efficiently and conscientiously.

Today, Dr. Ibezim is supporting Professor Chukwuma Soludo in his changing gears mission  of transforming  Anambra State to a pacesetter state  as his ever loyal  lieutenant  which he  has demonstrated as chairman Committee on Boundary where he has contributed in settling many aged long  boundary matters amongst communities. As chairman Flood Response Committee, he has been proactive in tackling the perennial menace thereby preventing loss of life in this year’s flooding. He is also Chairman Committee on Human Capital Development, among others.

Today you join the noble league of November born personalities like late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe,  Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Mortala Mohamed, former President Goodluck Jonathan and former Vice President Atiku Abubarka among others to celebrate your new age.

We pray to God to continue to shower His  wisdom and grace on Dr.  Ibezim as he celebrates today with a  renewed vigour to continue to serve Ndi Anambra.

Happy Birthday Anambra Deputy Governor, Dr Ibezim.
