The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has formally presented Certificates of Return to Ondo State Governor-elect, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and his deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami.
The ceremony, held at the INEC headquarters in Abuja was a gathering of who is who in the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, including the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, and members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
INEC National Commissioner for Ondo State, Professor Kunle Ajayi, officiated the presentation.
In a speech filled with gratitude and commitment, Aiyedatiwa thanked the people of Ondo State for their overwhelming support, saying the mandate they just renewed through their massive votes across the 18 local government areas has placed a greater responsibility on him to serve them better.
Applauding President Bola Tinubu for fostering a level playing field during the elections, the governor-elect also praised INEC for its transparent and credible electoral process.
Aiyedatiwa who was accompanied by the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, vowed to surpass his previous performance, signaling a renewed era of good governance for Ondo State.
In an interview, Dr Ganduje, said the victory which is for all Nigerians and the African continent is a signal that democracy has come to stay.
