Anambra State Anti-Corruption Strategy supported by the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Programme, RoLAC, has held a review and revalidation meeting of the state’s anti-corruption strategy in Awka , with a view to strengthening government Ministries, Departments and Agencies, including their operations, to eliminate corruption and achieve results.


Speaking at the event that had in attendance Permanent Secretaries and other key heads of government parastatals and agencies, Dr. Ada Chidi-Igbokwe; from RoLAC explained that the first phase, 2019 to 2023, was not for witch-hunting, but rather to ensure that government operations are strengthened for better service delivery.

The Permanent Secretary, Office of the Head of Service, Mr. Adebayo Ojeinka, explained that the strategy is backed by law to achieve its objectives, adding that funding will help it enlighten the people on how to access government services without corrupt means.


On their parts, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth Development, Mr. Martins Agbili and his Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs counterpart, Dr. Nwabufo Nwankwo, noted that the strategy also includes local government areas, as the government has zero tolerance for corruption.


The event was also attended by the Managing Director of the Anambra Broadcasting Services, ABS, Mr. Chris Molokwu, and ABS Directors.
