The Archbishop, Province of the Niger, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, says prayers are essential part of life that make one spiritually alert, with power to overcome temptations.

In his ministration at the 2024 Advent Prayer Convention of the Anglican Diocese of Awka held at Chapel of Redemption, Unizik Permanent site, Awka, Archbishop Ibezim, who is also the Bishop of Awka Diocese, explained that God’s blessings need serious prayers and faith to earn.


The prayer convention which had as its theme, “God who lifted you will not let you down”, is an annual gathering of the faithful initiated by the Archbishop to pray for the country, Anambra State, the church and families, as well as seek God’s face for the coming year.


In their separate speeches, the organizers of the prayer convention, Venerables Chris Ogbodo and David Ezeobi, emphasized that consistency and patience in prayer are required in the journey of faith.
