The Anambra State Blind Students Association has celebrated its 2024 get-together aimed at encouraging the visually impaired to be resilient and determined in maximizing their potentials.
The event with the theme, “Vision beyond sight”, took place at Dennis Memorial Grammar School, DMGS, Onitsha, and attracted visually impaired students from secondary and tertiary institutions within and outside the state.
In their lectures, Professor Chigozie Ifeadeke and Barrister Eloka Obi charged the visually impaired students to believe in themselves and be determined to achieve set goals in life.
Speaking in an interview, the Co-ordinator of the National Association of Nigeria Students, NANS, South East, Comrade Charles Ijeomah, and the Anambra State Co-ordinator of the Youth wing of Nigeria Association of the Blind, Comrade Chibuzor Obierika, also charged the students to believe in themselves and take their destinies in their hands.
Patron of the association, Chief Godwin Okeke, who emphasized the need for support to people living with disabilities, commended past and present administrations in the state for their disability-friendly policies and programmes.
