The Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, JONAPWD, Anambra State chapter, is pushing for a more inclusive society, where persons with disabilities have equal opportunities to thrive.
This came to fore during the 2024 International Day of Persons With Disabilities held at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Amawbia, and brought together persons with disabilities, the media, government officials, and many others.
The theme of this year “Amplifying the Leadership of persons with disability for an inclusive and sustainable future” aligns with the state government’s quest to create a conducive environment for persons with disability.
In his address, the Chairman of JONAPWD Anambra State chapter, Comr. Ugochukwu Okeke, emphasized the need for an inclusive society where persons with disabilities have equal access to opportunities and resources and also reaffirmed the importance of upholding the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities in the society.
