In the spirt of Christmas, the Deputy Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Chukwuma Okoye has distributed over one thousand bags of rice and cash to persons from two constituencies that make up Awka South Local Government Area.


The distribution at Amawbia, saw twenty ward Chairmen, members of the Local Government Working Committee, members of the executive of the wards of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in Awka South One and Two Constituencies, and many widows and the less privileged go home with the largesse, where Right Honourable Okoye, said the event brings to an end the 2024 batch of the monthly salary scheme which had twenty-two individuals drawn from the two constituencies as beneficiaries and to enroll another set of individuals to benefit from the scheme in 2025.


For the Mayor of Awka South, Prince Chinedu Okafor and the Chairman of APGA in the Local Government Area, Barrister Lawrence Ezeudu, the Deputy Speaker has demonstrated what a true leader should be.


Some of the beneficiaries, including Mrs Chiwoke Nweke, a non-indigene and Mr Izuchukwu Okoye from Ezinato told ABS that they will forever be indebted to Right Honourable Okoye.
