Hundreds of people may have been killed when the most powerful cyclone in nearly a century hit the French Indian Ocean archipelago of Mayotte.

Cyclone Chido hit Mayotte with winds of more than two hundred kilometer per hour, damaging residential and government buildings as well as a hospital.
