The Federal Government has approved thirty billion naira for the nation’s thiry Universities of Agriculture to immediately commence mechanised farming.

The announcement came with a directive for specialised universities to focus strictly on their core mandates and cease offering programs unrelated to their original purpose.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, disclosed this yesterday, in Abuja while declaring open a retreat organised by the Ministry of Education for pro-chancellors of federal universities.
