Governor Chukwuma Soludo has directed that the pending promotion examination for Anambra workers should commence; with the constitution of civil service commission.

The Governor, who gave the assurance while attending the 2024 Public Service Day celebration, commended contributions and efforts of workers in the development of the state, and also directed the Accountant General to pay the workers the 2024 leave allowance as well.

During the event held at Jerome Udorji State Secretariat Complex, Awka, Governor Soludo emphasized the government’s commitment to improving workers’ conditions by providing necessary support and tackling issues related to their rights.

In her remark, the Anambra State Head of Service, Barrister Theodora Igwegbe, stated that with this year’s theme; “Ensuring safety and health at work in a changing climate”, the service will continue to enhance the wellbeing of workers to ensure increased productivity and overall wellbeing, and appreciated Governor Soludo for his support to the state workforce.

Deputy Governor of the state, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, accompanied the Governor to the event which was attended by Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, State Chairman of APGA, Barrister Ifeatu Obiokoye, Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, Directors, public servants, workers’ unions, among others.
