According to the Holy Bible, we should always give thanks to God, for He is good, and his steadfast love endures forever. In obedience to the word of God, the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honorable Somtochukwu Nkemakonam Udeze,  has deemed it necessary to thank God for His grace and mercy towards him and his family.

Right Honourable Udeze, a native of Atani in Ogbaru Local Government Area,  was born in 1972 to the family of the Late Reverend Patrick and Late Mrs Clara Udeze, both of the blessed memory.  He is married to Lady Chinyere, and God blessed them with children.

He attended the famous Denis Memorial Grammar School Onitsha (DMGS) and Aguata High School, Ekwulobia for his West African School Certificate.  He has Higher National Diploma, in Crop Production Technology, Post Graduate Diploma in Management and  Masters Degree in Business Administration, both from the University of Calabar.

Right Honourable Udeze, further attended the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam Campus from where he bagged  Post Graduate Diploma  and Masters Degree  in Agric-Economics and Extension, and a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D) in the same field also from the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University.

Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze has paid his dues in politics.  He was a Member of the sixth and seventh Anambra State House of Assembly representing Ogbaru Two Constituency and was reelected for the third time into the eighth State Assembly where he is currently the Speaker.

He has empowered a lot of Ogbaru youth, women and others in various schemes.  He facilitated employments for many Ogbaru indigenes and attracted various government projects, including roads, rehabilitation of schools and hospitals among others.

Currently, Right Honourable Udeze is personally building a Multi Million Naira Agricultural Processing Plant in Atani which is expected to serve the entire people of Ogbaru Local Government Area when completed. His purposeful leadership of the House of Assembly has resulted in the relative peace, unity and unprecedented achievements witnessed in the House in less than two years. The House of Assembly under his watch has enacted over forty Laws and more than two hundred Resolutions aimed at improving the living standard of Ndi Anambra as well as the overall development of the State.  The cordial working relationship he established between the House of Assembly  and other arms of government in the State especially the Executive has yielded positive results in the total transformation of the State.

As a Knight of Saint Christopher, he has not relented in supporting the work of God in different churches without discrimination.

Right Honourable Udeze, is thanking God for His boundless grace upon his family, restoration of health and the honour of serving as the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly.

We  request you to join us at the Cathedral Church of Saint James the Great, Atani, Ogbaru Local Government Area tomorrow, Sunday, twenty-second December, 2024 at ten  o’clock in the morning for the Special Thanksgiving Service, which will be followed by Reception at his Residence in his country home, Atani.
