Senator Ikechukwu Abana, through his non-governmental organization, Senator I. G. Abana Foundation, has continued to sustain his humanitarian gestures with the annual medical outreach for the elderly, empowerment of youths with skills and startup kits, as well as scholarships for students.

Speaking at the recent medical outreach and empowerment programme, Senator Abana said he understands it is the duty of mankind to show concern to the less privileged, the downtrodden and other members of the vulnerable community, and revealed that over one hundred and eighty-seven students have graduated from different tertiary institutions and schools through the help of the foundation.

For a member of Board of Trustees of the foundation, Mr Sam Ekpe, since the take-off of the I. G. Abana Foundation in April 2010, it has vigorously embarked on programmes that have helped to alleviate the sufferings of the poor, including credit schemes for women.

Some of the beneficiaries, including Mrs Onyinyechi Ebenegbu and Mrs Ngozi Nwankwo thanked the foundation for the food stuff and scholarship, praying God to continue to grant the benefactor long life and prosperity.
