Philanthropist from Umuawulu, Awka South Local Government Area, Chief Christopher Ndubuisi has empowered the people of Awka North and South with items worth over one billion naira.

The event, which took place at Chief Ndubuisi’s country home in Umuawulu, Awka South Council Area, kicked off with a holy mass attended by top government officials and the traditional ruler of Umuawulu, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu.

Items distributed at the empowerment include fifty shuttle buses, thirty-eight tricycles, and hundreds of chest freezers and grinding machines.

In a homily during the mass, Reverend Father Kevin Nwambu said that the empowerment is in line with Christ’ teaching on how the rich should help the poor, praying for God’s blessings upon Chief Ndubuisi for being an agent of change and development.

Speaking, Igwe Egwuonwu testified that God has used Chief Ndubuisi to bring development, progress and peace to Umuawulu while a stakeholder in the community, Chief Azubike Ekweozor and an elder brother to the donor, Chief Emmanuel Ndubuisi maintained that the items donated to the beneficiaries were the beginning of success in their lives.

The benefactor, Chief Ndubuisi said he considered the gesture as spiritual exercise and a way to thank God for blessing him.
