The Mayor of Njikoka Council Area, Barrister Chinedu Ononiba has enrolled one thousand men and women resident in the Local Government Area into the Anambra state Health Insurance Scheme and paid for the application forms for eligible students who will sit for Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.

The enrollment exercise which took place at the council headquarters in Abagana was part of activities to mark the one hundred Days in office of Barrister Ononiba Njikoka and to give account of his stewardship so far.

Speaking at the event, the Chief of Protocol to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Mr. Chinedu Nwoye frowned at those who do not utilize the benefits provided by the health insurance programme but continued to administer self-medication, emphasizing that the scheme is targeted at giving citizens of the state access to quality and affordable health care.

On his part, Barrister Ononiba appreciated Governor Soludo for the four major road projects going on in the local government and explained that the gestures are to complement the state government’s efforts in health and education.
