The new United States president, Mr Donald Trump has declared a national emergency on energy, saying that he has no higher responsibility than to defend United States from threats and invasions.

President Trump who stated this in his address shortly after his inauguration also maintained that his administration will bring security to the country’s borders.

Mr Trump, who is the first United States president to be convicted of criminal charges, replaced Democrat Joe Biden following his victory over Kamala Harris in last November’s presidential election.
