The new European Union Ambassador to Nigeria, Gautier Mignot has held maiden press briefing, outlining a robust agenda aimed at enhancing EU-Nigeria relations.
Ambassador Mignot, who assumed office in September 2024, highlighted the EU’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Nigeria to promote peace, sustainable development, and youth empowerment.
Describing Nigeria as a key player in Africa and the world, Mignot expressed enthusiasm about engaging with the country’s vibrant culture and dynamic entrepreneurial spirit.
He emphasized the EU’s role as Nigeria’s largest trade and investment partner, with a total trade volume of thirty-five billion Euros in 2023 and foreign direct investment of twenty-six point four billion Euros.
